NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow Collection

The Dual Intensity Eyeshadows come in all kinds of colours and what is interesting about them is that you can use them wet or dry, depending on the intesity you want to achieve. If you want a more subtle shimmer you use them wet, if you want a more opaque and very  metalic look apply it with a wet brush - perfect way to change the look from day to night! 
However NARS wasn't the first brand to come up with these water/ powder formula, Estee Lauder - Gelee Powder and MAC - Extra Demension range (MAC is under the E. Lauder company) had released similar products prior to NARS.

The packaging is square (slightly smaller than the usual single eyeshadow packaging) and the edges are sharper whereas the regular eyeshadows don't have harsh edges. The colour, of course, is matte black and the NARS logo is on the upper half, in white, and they have a magnet that keeps the lid from opening in the make up bag. The shape of the product within the pack is very graphic and resembles the packaging.

They first came out with 12 colours, later they expanded the range after they've seen that the customers loved the products and the sale was high. Each shadow is 21 pound. 

The 12 shades are: Callisto, Pheobe, Subra, Sycorax, Andromeda, Himalia, Dione, Cassiopeia, Europa, Lysithea, Desdemona and Giove.

Apply using Wet/ Dry Eyeshadow Brush #49 for a sheer soft touch of sensual color

Wet Application: High-Impact Finish

May be applied wet with the Wet/ Dry Eyeshadow Brush #49 for mind-blowing impact with dramatic luminous matte and high shine finishes

I went to YouTube to find swatches of the 12 colours as that is the best way to show how each shadow looks wet and dry. She also recommends to apply the product with a finger rather then a brush (if you are using it dry)  due to the product fallout, whereas if you want to apply the product wet use a flat stiff brush.

Later, they added five more colours to the range: Telesto, Tarvos, Pasiphae, Kari and Cressida which were released as part of other collections - for example, the spring collection. 

I really like the fact that one product could change the entire look from day to night just by adding water. I am thinking of including this concept into my designs, could do an advert around them, or maybe an editorial - or advertorial actually. Need to research more and do more brainstorming as I don't have the actual ideas for my looks yet - it's still quite early though.
