Spring / Summer Makeup Trends - Stained Eyelids

Not necesserally smokey, but smudged stained eyelids were seen a lot on the runway this year. The "party girl" look was seen a lot (Marc Jacobs, Etro)The shades veried from deep grays, almost blacks (Julien Macdonald, Nicole Miller, Versace) to a very neutral, orange toned shades (Erdem, Altuzarra). There were also some colourful ones, that looked like they were inspired by sunsets, or at least they do to me (Dior, Derek Lam, Jill Stuart).

Peachy and pink stained eyes were appearing a lot (SUNO, Erdem). The peach tones in a way appearing like the models have no eye make up and their eyes are sore (or is it just me?), but pink look very feminine. Some looks were glossy, which I personally liked (Emilio de la Morena).

James Boehmer, the NARS Director of Global Artistry, creted this very glossy peach toned eye make up for Suno SS16 fashion show using two shades of NARS lipgloss - Sixties Fan and Triple X. The gloss was also used on the cheeks. Proves to show that NARS make up artist, just like Francois, like to mix products and use them for different purposes, which I presonally like too.

I am thinking of creating a smudged, smokey eye for either my editorial look. I might include gloss, but peach tones will definitely not be included as I am not to keen on the 'tea stained' look.
