Spring / Summer Makeup Trends - Long & Clumpy Lashes

Mascara was a product that has been slightly ignored on the catwalks for the past few years, and while some stayed away from the product this season, too, others went all out and used mascara and lashes as the main focus and feature of the look.

Some layered tons of mascara to create very clumpy looking lashes (Marc Jacobs, Francesco Scognamiglio, Mansur Gavriel) and others used false lashes, individual mostly, to create funuristic, 60's inspired, doll like eyes (Marni, Thomas Tait, Louis Vuitton). Some added the "it" colour of the season - blue, too (Mary Katrantzou, Tod's).

I was thinking of using mascara in one of my catwalk look, then have the other with no mascara, and make it look really natural. For editorial I will probably use mascara in both looks, but I need to see whether or not I will use some individual lashes. They would look cool. My favourite looks were the ones from Thomas Tait and Marni's shows.
