NARS x Christopher Kane

The NARS collection created in collaboration with fashion designer from Scotland. Christopher Kane. Nars has been doing make up for his fashion shows since 2012 so he is very familiar with the designer's style as much as Kane is with his. 
This collection reflects Kane's fashion and is a right mixture of neon and neutral hues; violet, pink, gold and peachy. It was released last year (Apr 15), for Spring/ Summer 2015, and features ten products. As all NARS collaborations are limited edition and this one is no exception. The prices are the same as in other collaborative collections.

Single (Outer Limits) and duo eyeshadow (Parallel Universe) are the only eyeshadows in the collection. There are no palettes or lipsticks but there are two single blushes (Scarscape, Silent Nude) and four lip glosses (Nucleus, Mezmer, Nebulos and TBA). The last products are a combination mentioned products in one - Multiple sticks (Violet Atom and Quantum) that could be used for lips, cheeks and eyes. 

The packaging is sleek black with the NARS logo in hot pink and CHRISTOPHER KANE in white, just under the middle of the logo.

It is a shame that the duo eyeshadow in Parallel Universe is no longer sold because it would be so perfect for my editorial - gold/ pink/ violet irridecent shades with silver shimmer that are highly pigmented, almost metalic and could be used wet or dry.

Here's a look I found created with this eyeshadow duo. It is kind of the look I want to create for my editorial, minus the winged liner. Only two shadows were used - one all over and the other in the crease, so simple but looks so gorgeous and different and really makes the eye pop!

A make up artist and fashion designer collaborations are best in my oppinion as the clothes and make up work perfectly together in advertorials, in this case there are two in one as both artist are showing their new collections. This image below that they had published is a 3 in 1, I think, becuase; 1. they are advertising their clothes and make up line which makes it an advert; 2 they are selling a look aimed to be worn on holidays which makes it an editorial; and 3 the make up really reflets the fashion so it could be a catwalk make up look, too. 

Here's the image that I interpreted. We can see how the colours of the clothes really do match the make up collection. The make up in the image is quite neutral which allows the clothes to stand out in this case. The hair is straight, slicked with a middle parting and behind the ears.
